It is the aim of the Academy to graduate therapists who excel in both the theoretical and practical aspects required by our industry.
A high standard of training, using qualified, experienced trainers is upheld to ensure each student understands the work and benefits from every training session.
Each graduate from the Academy is skilled in all aspects, including advanced therapies, making them highly sort after in the work place.
Our trainer : student ratio is kept low to facilitate learning in both practical and theoretical classes.

The Academy of Beauty Therapy is situated in the outerwest council, Assagay, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The School is situated approximately 40km outside of Durban and offers a safe and tranquil environment.
With four well equipped practical training rooms, three theory rooms, three common rooms, separate salon and spa facility, tuckshop, laundry and kitchen facility, on site accommodation and administration offices.
Each practical training room has a maximum of 10 work stations. Each student has access to all facial and body equipment for training purposes as well as various specialized electrotherapy units, which are worked with in the second year.

Students are provided with lockers for storage of personal items, kits and so on. These are allocated on request at the beginning of the course.
Parking is available in the grounds, with full perimeter fencing and access control for students security. The Academy offers on site accommodation for out of town students. Ere the student is provided with 3 meals a day, laundry service and DSTV.
The training offered covers all theory and practical training required by the beauty therapist. The course is designed around the International standards set by our examination boards and upheld by our Education and Training Quality Authority – Professional Accreditation Board.
We are proud to announce the launch of our third year programme, this optional year will cover spa therapy, reiki training, crystal work and image consultancy. The third year will be available to all CIDESCO graduates who show a high degree of interpersonal skills and stron work ethic, combined with a desire to expand into this growing sector of the beauty therapy market.

DIPLOMA IN HEALTH & SKIN CARE THERAPY
BODY THERAPY
This section includes how to access the clients figure type and identify any problems. The therapist then learns to draw up and execute a treatment plan specific to that client. Therapies include Mechanical massage and vacuum suction, cellulite and muscle tone treatments.

In Second year the student will add specialized body training to her portfolio. These therapies include Body Wraps, Advanced Electrotherapy and Heat Therapy.
CLASSICAL SWEDISH MASSAGE
Full body massage based on the traditional philosophy, incorporating all classical movements. The student learns the history and philosophy of massage. During this course she will come to understand the different types of movements and the various effects each movement will have on the different systems of the body.
